Recently, I had to use a PC at school. The thought of using a keyboard, mouse, and trying to navigate the crowded desktops made me feel claustrophobic. With that being said, I decided to download the "arcsoft portrait plus" software because it was free for Windows 8. 1. I downloaded the application and installed it on my school's desktop computer. I opened up my windows explorer and ran the program to get a glimpse of how it worked. It claims to have a zoom feature, but after using this for a few minutes, I found that the program was broken. The zoom did not work at all, so that didn't really help me much. The interface itself is kind of awkward looking with the combination of skins. However, it made me feel like something was missing because there weren't any options or settings that could be tweaked to fit your taste. Clicking on each photo seemed like it took way too much time for them to open up. I wasn't impressed with the quick view feature at all. It would take a long time for the picture to load, and after that it was not clear. I tried out the "skin" feature on one of my photos, but it didn't give me any results that I wanted. Overall this is a mediocre application that lacks many of the essential features of an editing program.
